Upcoming Event:Servant Event with Laborers for Christ at Christ Lutheran in Perry, GA
We received the exciting news from Rev. John Lehenbauer of Christ Lutheran Church, Perry, GA, that their Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) construction loan has been approved. Praise God! He thanked us for our prayers on their behalf. Pastor John is happy to report that they will have a ground-breaking ceremony on Reformation Sunday, October 30th at 1 pm following their outdoor worship service and picnic luncheon. Due to the delay in financing, they cannot get a Laborers for Christ crew until January. We anticipate taking a weekend trip to Perry, GA, once construction is underway. Event Report:Car Wash fundraiser
4 students with the assistance of Ms. Deb & Mr. Aton held a successful carwash during the annual Mary-Martha Rummage Sale on Saturday, September 17th. It turned out to be a beautiful day and we took in over $100 during the three hour event. Thanks to all who had their cars washed and shined by this ambitious crew, we hope we made your day (and your car) a little brighter!

Event Report:Bake Sale fundraiser
As part of this community outreach event, the youth held a bake sale and assisted with other activities during the Fall Festival. Proceeds from this event were $106.50. Thanks to all who baked, purchased or donated to this fundraiser.

Event Report:Stepping Stone Benefit Concert
The benefit concert was held at Siloam Korean Church Norcross and benefitted Pastor Song’s Stepping Stone Homeless Ministry. We only had two attending this wonderful event. We enjoyed an evening of outstanding musical performances, both vocal and instrumental. The professional and selected church musicians all donated their services for this event. For a small fee of $10 we enjoyed two hours of delightful, dramatic and inspiring performances from about 8 different groups. Music included an oboe, cello and piano trio that should be recording soundtracks for Walt Disney to a soprano that may have performed opera on Broadway and a Atlanta Christian Korean Men’s choir that will have many churches standing in praise, just to name a few. If all those performances weren’t enough, the evening concluded with a video presentation of the work of Stepping Stone Ministry which included one of the photos of our church serving. That was followed by several dance numbers performed by the children who attend the homeless shelter after school program taught by Mrs. Sharon Song. To close the evening, our friend Pastor Andrew Fields of Grace Lutheran in Atlanta conducted the homeless men as they sang several hymns in multi-part harmony including one man’s solo. If you weren’t already in tears from the video or the kids’ dance, that performance definitely brought out the tissues. Mark your calendar for 2012, they are going to do it again. This is a musical event not to be missed!
